Xenophobia

South Africa And Nigeria

Xenophobia
Is a  widely spread issue that insinuate the fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange or foreign
The issue of xenophobic attacks on Nigerians by South Africans as brought about a state of emergency also a state of panic for Nigeria diaspora living in South Africa .
The South Africans ( Post Apartheid country ) are making hell out of Nigerians .

Relationship That Exist Between Nigeria And South Africa
This refers to the current and historical relationship between Nigeria and South Africa . Both countries are former British colonies , members of the Commonwealth of Nations and African Union .
According to a 2013 BBC World service poll , 63% of Nigerians view South Africa's influence positively , with 24% expressing a negative view .

Apartheid Era
During the apartheid era in South Africa , Nigeria was one of the foremost supporters of anti-apartheid movements , including the African National Congress ; the Nigerian Government issued more than 300 passports to South Africans seeking to travel abroad . Sammy Okosun , a Nigerian musician , wrote the hit song "Fire In Soweto" in 1977 to commemorate the 1976 Soweto uprising against apartheid in South Africa .

Post Apartheid; Emancipation Of South Africa From Apartheid Regime
Following the end of the apartheid in 1994, South African businesses sought for professionals to immigrate and a large number of the Nigerian did so.

Human Rights Criticism
The Mandela led ANC had been seeking to help resolve the political crisis in Nigeria since 1993 ,following the annulment of the Nigerian elections in June 1993.In June 1994 Nigeria's military ruler , General Sanni Abacha arrested and sentenced for execution 40 political opponents including former Nigerian Head of state Olusegun Obasanjo as well as Chief Moshood Abiola . Mandela sent archbishop Desmond Tutu and the then Deputy President Thabo Mbeki on successive mission to Nigeria to lobby for the release of Obasanjo , Abiola and nine others .

Friction Between Both Country
Many Nigerians would recall the denial and instant deportation of 125 Nigerians by the South Africa immigration authorities in 2012 for not being in possession of yellow cards , even though Nigeria did not have a yellow card fever epidemic .Unconditioned report s had it that a serving manner of the Nigerian National Assembly was among those deported .The country remained unapologetic until Nigeria commenced deportation of it's citizens , including businessmen.

Interestingly while about 120 South African firms are well established in Nigeria such as MTN, DSTV , SHOPRITE, PROTEA HOTELS, ORACLE,GLOBAL OUTDOOR SEMCES , UMGERU WATER ,MULTI CHOICE AND MANY MORE , just a few Nigerian company have been able to find root in South Africa . Business accuse South Africa government of deliberate frustration of investors from other African countries .
Also the constant xenophobic attacks that occur in the country where Nigeria and their living businesses have been targeted for looting , leave an ugly stamp on the bilateral relations . The constant attacks are blamed on the government who other Africans , including President  Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe , have criticised for downplaying the role that the rest of the continent played in liberating South Africa from it problem .

Atrocities committed by Nigerians in South Africa
Different criminal act are been practiced by Nigerians in South Africa
The South Africa are complaining about how Nigerians are snatching their Job , the rate of drug peddling , prostitution and scamming all other unspeakable activities .

What we Nigerians need is to step up and work on our economy , we have to stop this over-ega-ness and overzealousnessof travelling to other countries in searching of greener pasture , we all need to stop the downgrading of Nigeria in other parts of the world because the dignity and integrity of Nigeria is low ,all the countries are not impressed by our ways and manners to life , it is being said in the African adage that "you can't live in a friends house and be controlling him , because if you do so he will get angry and furious " .

This implies with the relationship of Nigeria and South Africa , Nigerians are trying to be controlling there land and they said they have stoop do low for us but for our over controlling  are all out there angry and furious ,we are making life unbearable for them . what a South African can't consume in their land , Nigerians are consuming times two of it and this is like oppressing on their life . So Nigerians should come back to their fatherland and make Nigeria Great even if we need to criticise the government , even if we need to stage different protests , even if we need to destroy government properties, even if we need to start a war here in Nigeria , we need peace , security , harmony , favourable economy and so much more .

So Nigerians stop criticising South Africans what we need is to build our own economy and don't depend on there's .

Am writing this not to criticise the government or people of Nigeria , am just writing this to make common sense . Thank you
